Primary Care Impact: Tweed Health for Everyone PDSA on COVID-19 Patient and Staff Safety

With COVID-19 outbreaks in Victoria and Sydney, now is a very good time to review and refresh your in-practice COVID-19 strategies.

Practice Manager Alana Flohr from the Tweed Health for Everyone Superclinic has shared their comprehensive and detailed PDSA and photo gallery on increasing patient and staff safety during COVID-19.

The PDSA and gallery are brimming with improvement ideas for maintaining infection control and managing patient and staff activity safely at your practice. It also gives good insight into proactive staff communication and the results that come from committed leadership.

Here are some comments from the team:

“Matt (owner/GP) did a tremendous job by staying on top of the information internationally and nationally which prepared our clinic as a whole for when we we’re impacted the most. We had things already in place and organized which made a huge positive difference to our staff and the community.”

‘’Seeing how well our fellow colleagues pulled together as a team to make each day go as smoothly as possible. The kindness that our patients & fellow work colleagues showed us (well majority of patients) with making us homemade masks, giving us words of encouragement like ‘you guys are doing a great job’… makes a big difference in a crazy time.’’

‘’Considering our circumstances I honestly don’t think the team as a whole could have done a better job. Everyone came together as best they could to help out and I felt very proud to work beside the management team during this tough time.’’

Thanks to Alana and the team at Tweed Health for Everyone for your effort and for sharing your achievements!

So much work is being done across the region to maintain primary health care despite the restrictions and uncertainty. We recognise that the times remain very challenging. These shared ideas and improvements are invaluable.
