Even though 47% of the NSW population is eligible for bulk billed public dental health services, many of your patients will not have been to the dentist during the past year.
Oral health affects many other areas of health, so it is important that patients know how to take care of their teeth and gums and get regular dental check-ups.
Please ensure that your patients know that free dental care for children aged under 18 years is available at NSW Health public dental clinics. Many children under 18 are also eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme, which can be used at public or private dentists.
Please remind your patients that public dental services are also free for adults who hold a current Commonwealth Government Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Seniors Health Card.
Public dental clinics are located in Tweed Heads, Pottsville, Byron Bay, Ballina, Goonellabah (Lismore), Casino, Nimbin, Coraki, Yamba and Grafton. Please advise your eligible patients to call 1300 651 625 to make an appointment with public oral health services.
