Last week immunisation events were run across the Mid North Coast with over 100 attendees across all three locations. The North Coast Public Health Unit (NCPHU) provided an extensive update on the latest changes to the National Immunisation Program Schedule, cold chain management and all the latest tips on immunisation. The need for support, resources and training in the areas of the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) data and conversations with hesitant parents were discussed and experiences and ideas shared.
Based on the input from these meetings, NCPHN and NCPHU will be developing guides and training for immunisation providers to improve data quality in AIR. Also, we are currently offering support to practices to ensure that both AIR and clinical software information is up to date. Please contact NCPHN if you would like this support and training in your practice.
Resources that are designed to help with conversations about childhood immunisation are available here.
Further immunisation events will be held in November in conjunction with the Nurse Network Meetings in Kingscliff and Alstonville.
