Community members and service providers came together in South West Rocks and Lake Cathie to celebrate the launch of North Coast Primary Health Network’s Healthy Towns Community Action Plan in June.

Following 18 months of community consultation and co-design, NCPHN is funding over $400,000 of community health and wellbeing initiatives across the two communities.

In South West Rocks, initiatives include:

  • Early intervention speech pathology services for preschool students
  • Horseshoe Bay Reserve parkrun
  • Exercise and wellness groups
  • Community bus service to Kempsey and Port Macquarie
  • Support for Kempsey Shire Council’s My Community Directory
  • GP workforce support

Initiatives announced for the Lake Cathie community include:

  • Community Hub
  • Trauma training for volunteer emergency responders
  • Community noticeboard
  • Community garden
  • Mental health resources for students
  • Intergenerational exercise equipment

The Community Action Plan outlines key demographics for each community and lists each of the initiatives being funded. You can also download a copy here:
