Management of Chronic Pain in the Mid North Coast
Live Webinar
Tuesday 1 December
7:00pm – 8:30pm
Listen to an interdisciplinary panel discuss the evidence-based approaches for managing chronic pain. Hear from Brent Skimmings, Clinical Services Specialist at NPS MedicineWise, who will provide advice on making better decisions about medicines and medical tests.
Also hear from Dr Shaun Clarke, a specialist pain physician at Pathia Pain Management. Dr Clarke understands that persistent pain is physically and emotionally exhausting and has an empathetic and pragmatic “whole person” approach. Dr Clarke focuses on functional outcomes, not just pain reduction, and reducing the burden of opioid and other medications frequently forms part of his tailored treatment strategy.
Assisting the panel will be Aleksander Gavrilovic, Principle Pharmaceutical Officer from Monitoring and Compliance with NSW Ministry of Health.
The webinar will be facilitated by Dr Andy Williams, GP and Clinical Educator Healthy North Coast.
Who should attend?
This webinar is designed for all primary care professionals involved in the management of chronic pain in the Mid North Coast, including opioid prescribers and dispensers of opioids.
What will you learn?
By attending this webinar, you will gain confidence to:
- Identify patients at risk of opioid dependency
- Prescribe both safely and legally
- Explore other non-pharmacological options for patients within the region
We look forward to seeing you online for our last webinar of the year!
