A recent report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare estimates that nearly four in ten adults aged over 18 have high blood pressure. Of these, only around 40% have their condition under control. Uncontrolled hypertension remains a significant contributor to poor vascular health.
In this session we’ll explore who should be screened and how to address inertia – both in clinical practice and among patients – when it comes to managing this prevalent condition. Designed specifically for all primary healthcare clinicians from GP’s to Allied Health Professionals.
Through a practical case study, you’ll gain insight into local challenges and hear directly from health professionals in your area who are actively involved in prevention and management.
Focussing on multidisciplinary management, with a case study that offers practical insights into how the multidisciplinary team can work together to overcome barriers to implementing lifestyle, exercise and pharmacological approaches that support blood pressure control and improved vascular and brain health outcomes.
