Over the past few decades we have seen the progressive introduction of digital technologies and virtual healthcare in a controlled manner, with
systematic privacy checks and security measures in place. However, with the advent of COVID-19, healthcare providers were required to shift to a near contactless, virtual system of care. FaceTime, Zoom and even telehealth have been introduced so rapidly that many have been attached to unsecure web applications.
As COVID settles and we start to look to life after the pandemic, it is important to regroup and review the systems in place to ensure they are secure and that they meet the privacy principals and accreditations standards.
