Connecting Health and Community: Unlocking the Power of Social Prescribing
You’ve asked and we’ve listened! That is why our next round of Clinical Societies will have an increased focus on networking, while still gaining knowledge at the same time. Join us for dinner, discussion and a deep dive into unlocking the power of social prescribing.
Social prescribing is an evidence based, contemporary approach to health and wellbeing gaining significant ground around the world. This event will explore the growing impact of social prescribing on health and wellbeing, focusing on its outcomes for health systems, providers and communities.
Recently we had experts, including Charlotte Osborn-Forde (CEO, National Academy of Social Prescribing, UK), Dr Rosanne Freak-Poli (Senior Researcher and Epidemiologist, Monash University), Leanne Wells (Health Policy Consultant, Consumer Advocate & Board Member of Co-ordinaire), and Dr J.R Baker (CEO, Australian Social Prescribing Institute of Research and Education) meet in Port Macquarie. You will get a chance to see what they discussed and explore through interactive discussion what this could mean for your local area.
Topics will include:
- Localised case-based discussions on how social prescribing has transformed lives, with insights from clinicians and consumers.
- How social prescribing strengthens communities, reduces chronic disease, and enhances wellbeing.
- Insights into the recent Australian national feasibility study on social prescribing and what lies ahead for Australia.
- Healthy North Coast’s Healthy Towns 2025 initiative and how you can get involved
