This workshop aims to increase knowledge of intellectual disability amongst health professionals and raise awareness about the challenges that people with intellectual disability face in their health care.
Learning outcomes:
By attending this workshop attendees will:
- Gain lived experience insight from facilitators with intellectual disability
- Understand the importance of person-centred inclusive practice
- Begin to consider reasonable adjustments needed for people with intellectual disability
- Understand the importance of inclusive communication skills
- Learn about free resources that can help improve their inclusive practice
