About Banaam Cultural Safety Training
Banaam training provides a lens through which to view all relationships within the cultural framework, enhancing engagement between Indigenous people and the broader Australian community. The Banaam team has found a unique way to impart their cultural knowledge and share contextualised cultural skills that have been transferred to them throughout their lives. This deep cultural connection is what sets Banaam’s training apart from other cultural safety training activities.
Banaam’s training is essential for primary health care clinicians wanting to gain a better understanding of Indigenous culture and is a must for any practitioner wanting to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The training requires an awareness of your own values as a primary health care clinician, and how your values can influence your practice.
If you cannot make this event please note there will be workshops in Grafton, Lismore and Kingscliff. Visit www.hnc.org.au/events for details.
