Suicide Prevention

The NCPHN is part of 12 lead site PHNs who are working closely with the black dog institute and their ‘Lifespan’ model. The model states that in order to really make some positive change within suicide then a ‘systems based’ approach needs to occur. What that basically means is that it takes more than just one part of system to prevent suicide. It needs to come from many differing parts to come together and help prevent it.

The NCPHN is working closely with the communities of Lismore, Tweed/Byron, Kemspey and The Clarence Valley in the development of steering committees who have established their own local plan to support their community in line with the Lifespan objectives.
